My Competitive Advantage tutor is wonderful. Not only is she intelligent, but she is friendly and has many great teaching methods. These techniques made me fully understand what I am learning and helped me focus on the mechanics of writing an essay. I am very thankful to have her as a tutor. She is really nice and understands how connecting with her students will achieve great results.

I began working with Competitive Advantage Tutoring going into my sophomore year of high school. For the remaining school year I worked with my tutor for my Algebra and Trigonometry class. My work with my tutor helped my grades and my understanding of fundamental Algebra concepts. We were able to work really well together and learn about each other’s way of teaching and learning. This ultimately made our sessions more productive. My overall score went up an entire letter grade! As the school year came to a close, Competitive Advantage Tutoring helped me transition my math sessions into SAT prep for the coming year. Although I’m not finished with my SAT work, the Competitive Advantage tutors have been wonderful as I begin the process of studying for the SATs.
I am writing to let you know that I have indeed heard from schools, in fact, I’ve heard from all of my schools. It is my pleasure to inform you that I have been accepted at Friends Seminary, LREI, Berkeley Carroll, Calhoun, and Rudolf Steiner, and I have been wait listed at Fieldston. This is great news, of course, for me, but I would like you to know I could not have done it without your help. Thank you so much!

Sometimes I see commercials for tutoring companies on TV and the kids are always smiling. I used to think that was really lame because kids don’t actually smile like that when they are learning. Recently, I started working with a tutor from Competitive Advantage Tutoring and I actually do smile! My tutor balances learning and fun, and it works really well to keep me interested. She is genuinely interested in me and how I am doing at City and Country. I think that Competitive Advantage Tutoring caters to your learning style’ better than any company ever could.

My daughter Emily has been working with Danielle, from Competitive Advantage, for about six weeks and it has been an amazing experience. Emily has shown incredible growth in her math. She has confidence and knows what she is doing! We will be using her for fourth grade because it has just been amazing! She walks in the door every time with a huge smile on her face, ready to go. She calls and checks in, her emails are incredible, the support and the care that we get from her has been phenomenal. If you ever need any help for your child, I highly recommend Competitive Advantage!
My son Otto has been working with Competitive Advantage for pretty much four years now. We started with early phases of learning how to read, and get comfortable with reading, and we never wanted to give up the extra help because its helped my son so much in feeling confident, in feeling expanded in his knowledge, his different approaches, organization, in ways of thinking about the work as well as about learning the work and absorbing the work. And I can’t speak highly enough about the service. I think everybody is trained in a way that makes them personable and smart, and professional. It is a complete pleasure to actually have the tutoring experience and I recommend it.

Danielle has tutored our son Alex through two different standardized tests. First, for high school and now for boarding school, so we have known her for several years. She was highly recommended to us by a good friend. I have to say that, number one; our son likes working with Danielle because she is a cool, nice person- which is half the battle. Also, Alex’s test scores have really improved, and of course, that is the proof right there! It has been incredibly helpful for him to be able to practice these tests with somebody who is really good at identifying where the weaknesses are. It has been really great to have her!

My daughter is getting tutoring sessions with Danielle and it has been an amazing experience getting ready for her big test for the fourth grade. Danielle has been nothing but a dream; constantly making sure Georgia is prepared for her test and, actually, Georgia has been doing very well! Things are turning out great and I’m very pleased with Danielle. She is always on time, always calling and emailing, telling me what I can do to make it better for my daughter. She does everything great! I hope I can have her tutor my daughter until she graduates from high school.
My son has been working with Danielle for over six months. Its just been a very positive experience. I’ve never met anyone with more enthusiasm than Danielle. She sat down with Noah right away and got to work. He never complained, he got a lot out of the tutoring, and his score went up dramatically! He enjoyed working with Danielle. I really can’t say enough positive things about Danielle and her attitude and professionalism.

My son Quinn is nine years old, and has been working with Danielle for four to five months, preparing for the ISEE test. It has been a great experience for him. He had to learn a lot of new material and it has gone extremely smoothly! Danielle’s explanations have been great for him and saved me from arguing with him about doing his homework and extra test preparation. I would highly recommend Danielle and her company for anyone looking for a tutor!

Our tutor has taught our son to think beyond the textbook and apply thoughtful and meaningful methods to his writing and comprehension skills. She is patient and understands how to navigate through learning roadblocks. Also, she has pride of ownership and is very focused on achieving results. I feel confident that she has given my son the necessary tools to foster a desire for learning. She has also enhanced his ability to think and process knowledge independently. She truly loves to work with students and it shows.

My daughter just finished the 7th grade and will be applying to high schools in the fall. Our tutor from Competitive Advantage Tutoring worked with her in math once a week for the two months before the ERB this spring. Upon request, we were given two additional prep meetings for the verbal section. All of these sessions were a huge help in getting our daughter mentally prepared by providing a clear explanation of how the test sections were formatted. She went into the test with confidence and the results were great! And she enjoyed the sessions throughout! This is a child who doesn’t like homework, so the fact that she looked forward to the sessions was astonishing and a pleasure for me! The Competitive Advantage tutors are terrific. Thank you Competitive Advantage!
Competitive Advantage has been tutoring my six-year-old son in reading skills for the past six months. From the moment my son met his tutor, he was fully engaged, challenged, excited, and happy to ‘work.’ Our tutor’s approach was friendly, inspiring, and thoroughly enjoyable. She was punctual and responsible with her appointments. Additionally she reports my son’s progress with explanations of how and what she is doing. Most of all, my child is happy and excited to see her. He derives pleasure and learning from his tutorial sessions. He has been excited about his learning, and for this we are very grateful.

Our daughter has been working with a Competitive Advantage tutor for two months and has made great progress in her comprehension and understanding of all the age-appropriate concepts presented to her. I am always happily surprised at the understanding and knowledge she has grasped from her sessions and that she is able to effortlessly demonstrate back to me during our ‘homework’ time. From day one, our daughter’s tutor was able to get very interested in the work they were doing together. She always makes the work fun and exciting! At the end of each session, our tutor gives us a very insightful progress report and guidance as to what we all can work on together at home. Our daughter enjoys her ‘homework’ and always looks forward to her next meeting time with her tutor!
Competitive Advantage Tutoring has been working with my twin daughters since they were in 3rd grade and continues to work with them now that they are in middle school. Our tutor is smart, energetic, creative, reliable, and a pleasure for all of us to be around. Her enthusiasm and creativity allow her to engage children at their level and capture their interest and attention. We cannot say enough good things about her ability to work with children.
Our 13-year-old son has been working with Competitive Advantage tutors for much of the past school year on standardized test preparation. Not only has it improved our son’s scores and self-confidence, he has actually enjoyed the process! He has not complained once about meeting with his tutor, because she is not only smart, but also fun! She knows how to keep him engaged.

Competitive Advantage Tutoring has helped my daughter, Cleopatra, enjoy reading. The encouragement and one-on-one focus has had a lasting effect on both Cleo’s confidence and comprehension. Our tutor can pinpoint and address problem areas and create fun solutions. Cleo very much looks forward to her weekly lessons and really is keen on doing them well!
My daughter had multiple sessions with her Competitive Advantage educator for testing prep for New York G&T for Kindergarten. Her educator was extremely professional, she was able to keep my daughter on track, was very responsive with redirection and praise whenever appropriate. After the first session my daughter felt she had a new friend and was so excited to see her each time she came. After each session her educator took time to explain to me what my daughter did well and what she needed help with. I truly feel that had it not been for her great ability to relate to my daughter and keep her motivated, my daughter would not have been able to learn what she needed, nor would she have been prepared for the type of questions on the test.
I am so grateful for the support you offered Charlie. Thanks to Competitive Advantage he was able to test with a deeper understanding of the material, giving him the confidence to improve his scores across the board. We are delighted to report that he was accepted to five of the six schools to which he applied (waitlisted for the sixth), and will be attending our first choice, Friends Seminary. If ever we need help in the future or should someone ask for a recommendation, I will not hesitate to contact Competitive Advantage.
